TIM'S BIO

Tim Searcy has been involved in the direct marketing industry for over 30 years, beginning at the age of 10.  He has had the privilege of serving as a senior executive in the largest and fastest growing direct marketing companies in the world, including West Teleservices, APAC Teleservices, Transcom Worldwide, and Rapp Collins.  With sales and CEO responsibilities combined, Tim has been responsible for development of over $2 billion in outsourced teleservices and direct marketing solutions worldwide.

Currently Mr. Searcy serves as the CEO of the American Teleservices Association (ATA). As legislator’s turn their focus from the outbound sales component of our business, Mr. Searcy fights to preserve the operational freedom of inbound practices from over regulation.

Internationally, Mr. Searcy has worked in the United Kingdom, Canada, India, Panama, the Philippines, the Dominican Republic and Brazil to encourage compliance, growth and education throughout the teleservices industry.

As the ‘spokesman for the teleservices industry,’ Mr. Searcy has conducted hundreds of interviews on issues related to federal and state legislation, and has appeared on national programs and networks including Hardball with Chris Matthews, The O’Reilly Factor, Crossfire, Fox News, CNN, CNBC, NBC, ABC, and others. He testifies before U.S. House and Senate Committee, and lobbies in Washington regularly.

Mr. Searcy has been inducted into the Teleservices Hall of Fame and has received Customer Interaction Solutions’ Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Akron’s Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing Studies, and sits on the Editorial Board of Direct Marketing: An International Journal. Mr. Searcy is a highly sought after international speaker and published author on CEO leadership, sales and marketing, and the future of the direct marketing industry.

On a personal note, Tim is blessed with a beautiful wife of 20 years, and two wonderful children, and makes his home in Indianapolis, IN.  Tim is active in his church, and recently joined the Board of Directors for The Professor Garfield Foundation, to promote worldwide English literacy.

Lisa DeFalco
Chairperson, ATA National Board of Directors

As one of the co-founders of the industry’s first third-party monitoring firm, Ms. DeFalco has been instrumental in developing the need for quality and performance management products & services within the financial services, telecommunications, insurance, utilities and membership services marketplaces.  As CEO of TPG TeleManagement, Ms. DeFalco focuses her energies on financial direction and corporate growth management. 

TPG TeleManagement is the most recognized name in quality and performance management, monitoring 3 million calls and managing the performance of 20 million calls for the Fortune 1000.

In October of 1996, she was a founding partner of TPG TeleManagement, where she designed the vision for TPG’s award-winning agent evaluation software, the SEL System. Prior to that, Ms. DeFalco co-founded Princeton Management Resources, Inc. (PMR) in January, 1993.  As Executive Vice President, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, including client service, personnel, executive management, contract negotiations and new service developments.  In that capacity, she created quality standards for the call center industry that remain today.

Ms. DeFalco has been employed within the call center industry for 16 years.  Prior to starting PMR, she worked for call centers in every operational capacity, including operational management, training, client services and human resources.

Ms. DeFalco has served on the ATA Board of Directors for four years and is currently its Chairperson.

Mitch Roth
ATA General Counsel
Partner, Williams Mullen

Mitch Roth is a partner in Williams Mullen's business and communications practice group. He is a recognized national authority on state and federal direct marketing laws.  He counsels clients on developing effective marketing strategies to ensure compliance with telemarketing, email, fax, direct mail and internet marketing laws. He also has a significant amount of experience in defending clients in state and federal regulatory enforcement proceedings which allege violations of direct marketing laws. 

Mr. Roth serves as outside general counsel to the American Teleservices Association and is a frequent lecturer on legal and compliance issues affecting the direct marketing industry.
